If you want to say that something is unknown in general, you use the pronoun man (generic term) to either mean science or other areas of knowledge. In this context man means de (they).

The Danish words "skifte" and "forandre" are very similar in meaning, but there is a difference:

You can "skifte" anything: opinion, bus, job, friends.

However, it is mainly people, values or the times that "forandrer sig".

So, you can exchange (skifte) one friend for another, or you can change (forandre) your present friend so that he becomes better.

To be able to compare people or situations, you need to conjugate the adjectives. There are two common ways to do this in Danish, either by adding an ending to the adjective or by paraphrasing it using an adverb.

Most adjectives can be compared according to strength:

• Positive: "en klog dame." (a smart woman)
• Comparative: "en klogere dame." (a smarter woman)
• Superlative: "Den klogeste dame i verden." (the smartest woman in the world)

When using the periphrastic form, you use the simple form of the adjective and compare it by adding an adverb:

• Mere
• Mest

Finally, a small group of adjectives form comparative and superlative forms by using a different stem:

• "god, bedre, bedst"

• Mange is used about something that you can count, 
• Mere is used about something that you cannot count.
  

In Denmark, the Christian church is officially endorsed by the state. When someone is christened, he or she will automatically become a member of the folkekirke (National Church), accounting for around 85% of the population. As a member of the folkekirke, around 0.75% of your tax payments goes to the church. 

Many Danes are members of the folkekirke without being very religious, or without actually practicing the religion. They do not go to church, neither daily nor weekly, but they will go for special occasions, such as christenings, weddings, Christmas or Easter.

Before Harald Blåtand brought Christianity to Denmark around year 900, the Danes believed in Norse mythology and the gods Odin and Thor.
